Valley County Pioneer Museum
The Valley County Pioneer Museum is located at 54109 US Highway 2 in Glasgow. The museum features the country’s largest and most extensive Assiniboine collection, railroad and agricultural displays and stories from the Titanic. Wander through the museum and explore the vast array of exhibits. From “Stan’s Bar & Wildlife Collection,” which features wildlife mountings, artifacts, antlers and beautiful furs to the “Early Homes & Schools” exhibit displaying valuable china from the 1800s as well as a fully-furnished schoolhouse room that is reminiscent of a 1930s country school, there is an exhibit for every history enthusiast. The museum is currently under construction, working on a street scene for 1915 Valley County. Upon its completion, the display will feature storefronts and buildings reminiscent of the times. Admission is $3 for adults, $2 for students and free for kids under six years old. Visitors applaud the museum’s organization, extensive collection of historical dis and the team of helpful, knowledgeable volunteers.
Busted Knuckle Brewery
Busted Knuckle Brewery is the first and only brewery in Glasgow located at 303 1st Avenue South. The brewery opened in 2015, after owner Ben Boreson decided he was tired of “busting his knuckles” from 30 years as a mechanic. After a five-year home-brewing stint, he converted the garage into a microbrewery, and the rest is history! The taproom is open Wednesday through Saturday from 4pm to 8pm. The extensive beer list includes everything from rye ales to stouts, Scottish ales, Hefeweizens, lagers, IPAs and more! One visitor reviewed the brewery, “Atmosphere is cool—mechanic theme throughout. Beer is great. A hidden gem along the HiLine. Wide variety of brews, and they even have root beer and cream soda for this kids!”
Children’s Museum of Northeast Montana
The Children’s Museum of Northeast Montana recently moved into a larger building, located at 514 2nd Avenue South in Glasgow. The museum’s mission is to “provide an environment that stimulates exploration, creativity and discovery and empowers children with knowledge through fun, hands-on experiences.” The museum features an extensive array of exhibits and interactive displays. Children can explore the library or treehouse while parents enjoy watching their kids play and cultivate their imaginations. The Children’s Museum is a great place to host birthday parties or join one of the many summertime activities for kids. For parents, visitors have noted the “wildlife exhibit” is the main attraction for adults.
Eugene’s Pizza
After you have checked into the Rundle Suites, you may find yourself craving a delicious, piping hot slice of za. The team at Eugene’s Pizza buys and uses only the finest ingredients. Create your own pizza or choose from their extensive list of tasty combination pies. The “Henry J” pizza is named after the Henry J automobile. This incredible pizza features, Canadian bacon, sauerkraut and the recommended addition of pineapple and black olive. If you prefer fish to bacon, try out the “Friday Special” pizza. It may seem like a strange combination, but the tuna, shrimp, mushroom and onion toppings blend beautifully in this one-of-a-kind pie. Eugene’s also offers half-cooked pizzas to go, so if kicking off your shoes, heating up some pizza and getting cozy in your suite is on the agenda, stop by Eugene’s Pizza at 193 Klein Avenue.
The Loaded Toad
If you are on the hunt for the most delicious cup of coffee in Glasgow, head down to The Loaded Toad at 527 2nd Avenue South. The cute and inviting cafe serves coffee, tea and yummy treats including cookies, scones, biscottis and muffins. Visitors applaud the excellent, friendly, knowledge staff as well as the incredible refreshments and food. One happy customer shared, “What a great coffee shop—a real gem in downtown Glasgow.
